Picking up where her 2018 debut Every Beginning Has an End left off, new single ‘Trouble’ has the soul-pop powerhouse continuing to explore her affinity for rich Motown-styled R&B. Backed by some of Melbourne’s finest players and propelled by her unwavering presence, ’Trouble’ finds Heather sounding as commanding as ever as she wrestles with vulnerability, the track a fearless admission of the thrillingly dangerous effects of falling for someone without an exit plan. If the song is to play as a word of caution to those facing the same fate as Heather, it’s far from a cry for help - instead, with its balmy grooves and swells of gooey harmony, ‘Trouble’ recreates those exact same giddy feelings that Heather should be warning us of.

With an accompanying video that captures Heather and her eight-piece band cutting ‘Trouble’ to tape at Melbourne’s Phaedra Studios, viewers are offered a peak into the comfortably intimate atmosphere of the session, the clip’s candid footage and inviting pastel hues abundant with a relaxed charm that clearly found its way onto the winning take.
